Chrome Plating Bristol

Doug Taylor Metal Finishing Co are a family-run business, established in 1981 and providing comprehensive Chrome Plating Bristol.

The business was started by Doug Taylor himself, a keen chemist with a passion for Chrome Plating, and there are now three generations of the Taylor family involved in the business.

Chrome plating for Bristol customers

Our workshop on the Knightcott Industrial Estate in Banwell is about 20 miles from the centre of Bristol, which makes it easy to bring parts to us rather than post them. Call 01934 820 454 first and we will arrange a time to drop them off, Monday to Friday between 8.30am and 5pm. You can collect them the same way when they are finished, or we can return them by insured courier.

Bristol has a long engineering history, from the Bristol cars built at Filton after the Second World War to the aircraft work at the same site. If you are restoring a car, a motorcycle or a boat in the Bristol area, we can plate anything from a single badge to a full set of bumpers. Our classic car chrome plating page covers bumpers, grilles and trim in more detail.

All chrome plating work for our Bristol customers is carried out to British Standards, and we incorporate additional inspection points at each element of the chrome plating process to ensure that the end result provides the best possible finish that the metal part will allow.

Everything is checked whilst wrapped to ensure the item is of the highest quality before being sent out or collected.

We will handle everything from single items to larger volumes, subject to required turnaround times.

Is any Preparation Work needed by the Customer?

No, generally you can supply your item to us in its current condition and we will undertake all preparations (strip and polish) before undergoing the transformation process.  The only exception would be if we have to manually remove heavy paint layers or lacquers from the metal you send to us, in which case a small extra charge would apply to the stripping process.   All details of this will be included in the quotation we provide to you before commencing work.

Accreditations / Industry Standards and Awards

All of our Electroplating processes adhere to the appropriate British Standards.   We are members of the Federation of Small Businesses and approved contractors to Leonardo Helicopters (formerly Agusta Westland)
